There are prompts. There are themes. And then there's whatever your imagination does with them — which is really what we're here for. Already working on something? Bring that instead
Share your work, share anonymously, or don't share at all. This is your creative retreat — Hotel Adipose works however you need it to.

Micro-epics are short prose narratives coined by playwright Peter Handke, focusing on detailed observations of the natural world, everyday objects, and fleeting moments of daily life. How it works: Members may work on their own personal writing or choose from provided prompts. Facilitated sessions are 20 minutes online with minimal exchange: 2 X 5 minute writing segments, followed by one ten minute focussed session and silent integration—no sharing required although welcome after the 20 minute writing period. Group accountability supports regular practice, sustaining creative flow, emotional release, clarity, and stress reduction while building a regular, low-pressure writing practice.
Quick Draw: is a quick 20‑minute facilitated drawing session. How it works: each facilitated session includes 2 x 5 minute sketches followed by one 10‑minute drawing. Working from your immediate surroundings—indoors or outdoors—scenery or objects- you’ll explore light, composition, and mark‑making using any materials that fit your practice. The emphasis is on process over finished results.
The open reading session lasts one hour; however, members are welcome to drop in at any point and briefly check in—even if it’s just to read a single line or share a piece of artwork or to say hello. You’re free to arrive, contribute, and leave whenever you like. You are also welcome to simply be present and listen if that feels more comfortable. This is currently an English-speaking platform for group events, but feel free to read in your preferred language—every language is welcomed and appreciated.
A living, member-curated archive supporting personal research and studio practice. Drawing from member recommendations, it brings together references and tools spanning contemporary art, care, theory, fiction, poetry and philosophy. As a work in progress, the library evolves through collective contribution and reference subjects that evolve alongside the community’s shared interests.
